Retail Digitals doesn't operate alone. The hardware we sell is built by ZKong on industry-standard components. The software integrates with established US POS and ERP systems. And we work with US system integrators on regional deployments. Below is a transparent map of the ecosystem.
Manufacturer relationship
ZKong
ZKong manufactures the ESL hardware and operates the cloud platform. Retail Digitals is the authorized US distributor — we hold US inventory, handle US sales and support, and deal directly with ZKong on behalf of US customers. ZKong has shipped electronic shelf labels globally since 2017.
Hardware ecosystem
ESL hardware is built from a small number of specialized components. The major ones in any ZKong ESL:
E Ink Corporation
The e-paper screens in ESLs (BWRY, Spectra 6, etc.) are manufactured by E Ink Corporation, the global leader in electrophoretic display technology. Every major ESL brand worldwide — ZKong, SoluM, Vusion, Hanshow, Pricer — uses E Ink panels. The differences are in the surrounding hardware, firmware, and platform.
Industry-standard component suppliers
The wireless radios, microcontrollers, and coin-cell batteries inside ZKong ESLs come from established commercial suppliers (Texas Instruments, Nordic Semiconductor, Panasonic, Murata for batteries). These are the same component families used across the ESL industry.
POS & ERP integration partners
The ZKong cloud platform pulls price and product data from your existing systems. We don't claim a "certified partner" badge with every POS vendor — that would be misleading. What we do is provide three integration paths (REST API, scheduled SFTP, manual upload) that work with virtually any modern US POS or ERP. See the integrations page for the specific systems most often asked about and our compatibility status with each.
System integrators & deployment partners
For multi-store deployments, US customers often work with a regional system integrator who handles physical install (gateway mounting, label pairing, POS connection). We collaborate with several US-based retail technology integrators on a project basis. If you're scoping a deployment outside the New York metro area and want a recommended partner in your region, ask us — we'll connect you with someone we trust.
Become a partner
If you're a US retail technology consultancy, system integrator, or independent IT firm serving retail clients, we're open to partnership. The typical model:
- Consultancy / advisory firms: we provide hardware, you provide deployment and ongoing support to your client base. Margin-share on the hardware.
- System integrators: standard distributor terms, plus dedicated technical contact for active projects.
- POS / ERP vendors: co-marketing for a confirmed integration path. We document the integration jointly and refer customers in both directions.
There's no formal certification program or annual fee. Reach out and we'll talk specifics.
